Dai dati Clusit emerge infatti che il 40% degli internauti italiani fra gli 11 e i 74 anni sono stati in qualche modo vittime di qualche minaccia informatica, e circa la metà di queste sono state arrivate dai social network. I crimini su internet sono crimini esattamente come quelli reali, che possono andare dal rapimento dei dati subiti dalle piccole aziende seguiti da una richiesta di riscatto fino ai furti di denaro dal conto corrente.
