il nome di un formichiere, il pangolino, e dandogli l'attributo di meticoloso ("precise"), Canonical ha lanciato Ubuntu 12.04, la sedicesima versione della fortunata distribuzione Linux "veloce, sicura ed elegantemente semplice", come recita il claim sul sito.
Come al solito sarà possibile scaricarla gratuitamente dal sito ufficiale italiano e installarla liberamente su un computer desktop, portatile, su un netbook o sul proprio tablet.
E, quando l'ecosistema del progetto sarà completo, anche su una Tv, su uno smartphone o sui navigatori delle automobili.
Con Ubuntu 12.04 si fa sempre più chiaro l'obiettivo del progetto: quello di creare un ambiente, libero e open source, basato su sistema operativo leggero e versatile e su un'interfaccia coerente, non a caso chiamata Unity, che sia in grado di adattarsi ad ogni tipo di schermo.
