Nessun colpo di scena al processo di appello per Peter Sunde, Fredrik Neij and Carl Lundström, fondatori del noto sito svedese di file sharing “The Pirate Bay”. La Corte ha ritenuto che il sito “abbia facilitato il file sharing illegale in maniera tale da rendere punibili i gestori del servizio”.

Sono state perciò confermate le condanne di primo grado, anche rispetto alla precedente sentenza sono state diminuite le pene detentive – quella più lunga, dieci mesi, è toccata a Neij, mentre Sunde e Lundström dovranno scontare rispettivamente otto e quattro mesi – mentre è stato invece aumentato l’ammontare del risarcimento dovuto alle major dell’audiovisivo, che è di quasi 5 milioni di euro, da dividere in tre.
